Taking Your Classes

Before Taking Your First Class

Here are some tips to help create a great Alixa Rx University/Pedagogy experience.

Update "My Information"

The first time you log onto "My Class Portal" you will be required to update your personal information.

  • If your account has a default password you will be prompted to update it.
  • If your account does not have an email address added to it, you will be required to add one.
  • You will be required to enter your license information to ensure that your class certificates list the correct license number. If you do not have a license, please select "Not Applicable".

Learn "How to Take an Online Course"

When you log into "My Class Portal" to take your classes for the first time, you will have a class shown under "Pending Classes" called "How to Take an Online Course."

Click on the course title to begin the class. This class will explain how Alixa Rx University/Pedagogy courses work, how to answer review and test questions, and how to take a test, and complete a course.

TIPS for a better experience

  • Our classes can be taken in any web browser on virtually any device. We test the most current version of each web browser, so if you haven't updated to the most current version of your web browser, you may want to do so before taking a class.
  • Read out loud speech is available on virtually every course. The player to speak the course text is located at the top right of the page.
  • Some courses have sample sound files the will open in your media player. Those files are represented by an icon that looks like a document with a speaker.
  • Our classes are designed to be viewed with a screen resolution of 1024 by 768 (or more). If your screen resolution is set smaller, you will have to scroll left and right; up and down to view pages completely.
  • Some pages extend beyond the bottom of the screen. If a scroll bar is seen on the right side of the class page at any time, be sure to scroll down to view the entire page.
  • Once a class is paid for, the class title link under "Pending Classes"  will take you to the class management home page to begin the course.
  • There are additional resources located on the "How To" tab of "My Class Portal" that can be accessed at any time, including "How To" videos and user guides.
